Some frogs have developed neat ways to fool predators by stripes that appear to split them in two! The stripe down the scenter confuses predators from above by breaking up the outlines of "frog" shape to look like something different. This way, the frog or toad can blend in easier to it's background

Hi Abby, I have noticed that it is sometimes really hard to spot frogs--even when you know they are there. In the Taiwan Zoo we stood at a window for about 5 minutes with Sarah-Grace picking out frogs in an exhibit. We ended up finding 22!
